Volunteer in Israel with Sabra — serve with love, faith, and practical help from Sabra
House in Afula, in the Jezreel Valley near the Galilee.
If you love the God of Israel and the people of Israel, and desire to serve with your
hands and heart, there is a place for you with us.“When the people willingly offer themselves, bless the Lord.”
Judges 5:2
Volunteering with Sabra in Israel is more than helping with a task. It is a way of life marked
by an open heart, faithful prayer, willing hands, and a readiness to stand beside people who
need encouragement, comfort, and support.
At the heart of Sabra’s work are volunteers—men and women who come because they love
the God of Israel, love the people of Israel, and want to serve in a real and practical way.

A Heart Willing to Come
The spirit of volunteering is deeply biblical.
In the Song of Deborah it is written:
“When the people willingly offer themselves, bless the Lord.”
Judges 5:2
And in the days of Nehemiah, when the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt, Scripture says:
“The people had a mind to work.”
Nehemiah 4:6
This is the spirit that guides Sabra—people who are willing to come, to build, to serve, to pray, and to strengthen others.
How It Began
In 2003, the first volunteer came to Sabra from Denmark.
She arrived with a deep love for the God of Israel and for the people of Israel, opening a path of mercy and service that continues to this day.
Since then, many others have followed, and each one has added more light, faithfulness, and practical love to the work of Sabra.

Many volunteers stay at Sabra House, Sabra’s world center in Afula, in the Jezreel Valley of northern Israel near the Galilee.
From there they go out to serve, pray, learn, and help in practical ways.
Sabra House is more than accommodation.
It is a warm home base for volunteers who come to bless Israel through love in action.

Prayer, Building, and Willing Hands
At Sabra we believe that volunteering begins in prayer and continues in action.
Nehemiah gives a beautiful picture of this spirit:
“We prayed to our God.”
Nehemiah 4:9
Faith and action belong together.
True service brings together compassion, responsibility, perseverance, and willing hands.
A Volunteer Is a Blessing
The Bible not only speaks about willing hearts—it also blesses them.
“The people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves.”
Nehemiah 11:2
And it also says:
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.”
Proverbs 3:27
Every volunteer brings not only practical help but also hope, dignity, and encouragement.
More Than Work – True Partnership
Volunteering with Sabra is not simply a task.
It is a real partnership with people in Israel.
When someone comes in humility, love, and faithfulness, they strengthen hearts, lift weary hands, and leave a blessing behind.
Sometimes a visit, a kind word, or a simple prayer brings the deepest change of all.
A Personal Invitation
If God has placed it on your heart to come, pray, serve, help, and strengthen others, there is a place for you with us.
