Every Child Is a Whole World
Every child is a whole world. Within each child are dreams, talents, and a future that can
shine not only in their own life, but also in the life of society.
Yet reality is not the same for everyone. Some children in Israel begin their journey in life
from a more challenging starting point. Economic struggles within their families sometimes
create barriers that make it harder for them to succeed in school and believe in themselves.
At Sabra, we believe with all our heart that no child should be left behind. Through our work
in schools and boarding schools across Israel, we strive to give children a real opportunity
to grow, learn, and dream.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD; and the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3
Equal Opportunity at the Starting Line
In order for a child to dream big, the child must feel equal among classmates. One of the first
things we do is provide basic school supplies: new school bags, notebooks, books, pens, and the essential materials needed for learning.
When a child walks into the classroom with a new school bag, something changes inside.
The child walks with more confidence, dignity, and hope.
A Supportive and Nourishing Environment
Real learning cannot happen when a child is hungry. That is why part of our mission is to
provide warm meals for children who need them.
We also work to improve the learning environment in schools and boarding schools so that
every child feels respected, supported, and valued.
Sometimes One School Bag Changes a Life
Not long ago we met a child in a boarding school in northern Israel. He arrived at school
without the basic supplies needed for learning.
Through Sabra’s help he received a new school bag, books, notebooks, and new clothing for
school.
When he received these items he quietly said: "Now I can come to school like everyone
else.
Together for the Future
When we help a child, we help build the future. Together with friends and believers around
the world who love Israel and pray for Israel, we continue reaching more schools, more
boarding schools, and more children who need help.
