Jewish Roots

Learning the Jewish Roots

Welcome, my beloved friends, to a journey back to the roots.
This is not only a place of knowledge, it is a place of the heart.
Here I share weekly Torah portions, reflections on the Feasts of Israel, and
insights from the Bible, not as theory, but as life. As a living connection to
the God of Israel and to His people.
These roots do not belong only to the past, they are alive, breathing, and
moving even today.

Shabbat – A Gift of Nearness

Shabbat is not only a day of rest. It is a moment in time when a person
pauses, and remembers what truly stands at the center of life.
“And on the seventh day God finished His work… and God blessed the
seventh day and sanctified it.” (Genesis 2:2–3)
“Remember that you were slaves in Egypt…” (Deuteronomy 5:15)
Shabbat connects creation and redemption, the God who created the
world, and the God who brings us into freedom.
And in that sacred pause, we too learn to let go, to trust, and to draw near.

It means that in order for Israel people to come back to the Promised Land, for all promises to be fulfilled, a Jew should feel himself a part of his nation and call upon God of his nation, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Celebration of Feasts and Shabbat, studying traditions and Scriptures is a wonderful way to help a Jew to come back to his or her roots which in their turn will bring them to God.

The Feasts – Circling Around the Center

In Hebrew, the word for “feast” , Chag (חג) , comes from a root that means
to circle, to move in a cycle.
Life is not a straight line , it is a circle.
God is at the center , and we are invited, again and again, to return, to
move around Him, to realign our lives.
“These are the appointed times of the Lord, holy convocations which you
shall proclaim at their appointed times.” (Leviticus 23:4)
The feasts are not just dates, they are divine appointments.

Time – The Language of God

“Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens… and let them be for
signs and for seasons, and for days and years.” (Genesis 1:14)
The sun and the moon are not only sources of light , but they are also signs.

Time is not random, it speaks.

A Personal Word

In this place, I invite you not only to read, but to feel.
Not only to learn , but to draw near.
